Paper selection

One of the choices you need to make when printing something (like a birth announcement) is the type of paper to use. Since printers usually offer a lot of options, this can be quite overwhelming. I decided to narrow it down to what I believe are the two most beautiful types, each with its own character and highly suitable for birth announcements.
Modern
This is a double-sided coated sulphate cardboard, the most commonly used paper type for cards. It’s a beautiful, sturdy paper that makes illustrations pop. Additionally, it is laminated on both sides (matte), providing a satin-like layer that feels pleasant to the touch and gives the card a luxurious appearance.
Classic
This paper has a lovely subtle texture that resembles handmade paper, giving the card an elegant, warm appearance. It also feels great to the touch, and the colors appear beautifully on it. For some cards, this type is also available in a 500-gram variant that is 0.5mm thick and extremely sturdy, making the card truly a small gift to keep forever.
I’ll have a set of sample cards ready that you can request soon, so you can experience for yourself how the paper looks and feels.
If you’re looking for a very specific look and would prefer a different type of paper, please let me know. I have a nice collection of samples from various printers and would be happy to inform you about the options.
